THE PEOPLE BEHIND ZENSCHOOL
We are still asking questions, too.
zenschool grew from the founders’ own experience of uncertainty, work and starting again. They bring that experience into a space where people can reflect and learn with one another.

Kouji Miki
After working at Fujitsu and in an IT venture, Kouji faced a turning point in his forties. Daily Zen practice helped him pay attention to his own experience and reconsider what he wanted to do.
His work at zenschool connects reflection and dialogue with the practical questions people encounter in their working lives.
Shigeru Utsunomiya
Shigeru spent 18 years in production engineering at Suzuki. At forty, he left a stable career to explore what he really wanted to pursue.
His experience in manufacturing and his own change of direction inform the way he works with participants.
From enmono to zenschool
The two founders established enmono on 11 November 2009. Their early work supported manufacturing businesses and new projects.
Through that work, they saw that tools and business knowledge alone do not tell someone what they want to create. zenschool developed as a place to listen, explore and give shape to what matters to each person.
zenschool is operated by enmono Co., Ltd., based in Kamakura, Japan.
