Joining from overseas involves more than choosing a course. Start here, then discuss the arrangements for your particular programme with the hosts.
Taking part
Can I complete the programme entirely online?
No. The seven-month programme includes in-person sessions in Kamakura as well as online meetings. Discuss the required visits before making travel arrangements.
Is the programme taught in English?
Teaching language and language support must be confirmed for the programme and dates you are considering. An English website does not mean that every course is delivered in English. Tell the hosts which languages you are comfortable using.
Do I need to start a business?
No. You can explore questions while continuing in your current work. A new business is one possible direction, rather than a requirement.
Do I need to belong to a religion?
No religious affiliation is required. Zen informs the approach, but participation does not require joining a religious organisation.
What are the current dates and fees?
Ask the hosts for the current schedule, fee, currency, payment and cancellation conditions for the programme you are considering. Older announcements should not be treated as current offers.
Are travel and accommodation included?
Confirm what is included before booking. The information here does not establish a travel or accommodation package.
Who can I contact?
Use the English contact page to email the hosts. Include your country or time zone, preferred language and the programme you are interested in.
